With this project my role was only that of the website developer. The client had a few specific demands. Despite my background and experience with WordPress, the client wanted this site to be developed with DNN, formerly known as DotNetNuke. This would require my quick learning in how to develop a website in a whole new platform (DNN).
Some may believe that I favor WordPress only because it’s the most popular CMS in use today. While that is a good reason, there are many more that make WordPress wildly popular among designers, developers and website owners. In this case, my WordPress background, along with my experience working with Joomla and Drupal, helped my learning DNN. While I found DNN to have a few similarities with WordPress, I encountered many drawbacks that proved WordPress to be a better choice in many ways. In the end, the site was developed according to the design specs and all worked well.
After site delivery and launch, the client’s in-house team took over and further developed and modified the site. And recently they converted the site to WordPress. Imagine that.
